The purpose of WP2 is to assess broodstock nutritional requirements and develop suitable broodstock diets to enhance eel gamete production and offspring viability.
This includes determination of the quality of different broodstock sources with respect to nutritional parameters and levels of contaminants, and development of broodstock feeds.
The diets will be tested in collaboration with WP1 and samples of female and male eels, gametes, embryos and larvae will be analysed.
